Hello, actually the reverse A variety (倒A) exists for three larger categories of Szechuan coins: 大头龙 (large head dragon), 狭面龙 (narrow face dragon) and 阔面龙 (wide face dragon). It is also the most common variety for 宣统 (Hsuan Tong) Szechuan silver dollars. Which type would you like to read about? If you have a coin with a reverse A but are not sure of the precise type, you can use the appraisal form to send pictures:

Hi Paul, Chinese trade dollars were usually made from a classic 90% Silver 10% Copper alloy, but the purity of the alloy actually varied wildly depending on the mint and year of production. Genuine coins are never magnetic though, so if a coin you have sticks to a magnet, you can be certain it is fake.

I have a question. The metal composition on the Chinese dragon dollar is silver. Is it silver mixed with Nickel? Does a magnet attract to yhe coin? If a magnet attracts to the coin is the coin fake?
